Waiuku Sports Park Changing Rooms
DLM had the opportunity to work with Auckland Council and the Waiuku Sports park in the upgrade of their rugby fields and facilities. We were engaged to deliver new changing rooms, toilets, a store and services room that will be used by the Waiuku Community. The building needed to consider natural ventilation and maximise natural lighting. We achieved this by separating the walls from the roof and created an air gap between the two. We connected the walls and the roof with timber battens which also acted as a security feature. The material pallet was selected based on hard wearing, long life and easy cleaning properties, it was also important to the client that the building would be able to withstand hard impact and vandalism.
