Whakanewha Depot

DLM were commissioned by Auckland Council to complete the re build of the depot at Whakanewha Regional Park. The existing building had been flooded on three occasions causing extensive damage and therefore requiring temporary accommodation to be put in place.

The building is designed to deliver both workshop space and offices along with accommodation for students and a volunteer work force. The extensive use of metal and plywood to the exterior and the interior ensures the robustness and ultimate longevity of the building.

Its design and simplicity have been well received by all the participants in the whole process.
