Oranga Primary School ILE Conversion
 

This ILE classroom project is an interior conversion of an old 700m2 single cell eight classroom block that was in desperate need of a freshen up. It had been agreed to relocate the school staffroom from the upper part of the school by the administration into this block to bring teachers to the heart of the school as the majority of the school is on the lower part of the site. The design scope for this classroom block was to remove the underutilised hallways and incorporate them into the teaching space, create breakout rooms, reading nooks and convert the block into flexible learning spaces. The brief also included replacing the roofing, installing new insulation, acoustic wall linings and new flooring and ceiling coverings. Installing new lighting and a new heating system as well as a structural upgrade was also part of the scope.
