Marist Primary Herne Bay
DLM architects has a standing relationship with the Catholic Diocese of Auckland and done many educational projects with them over the years. DLM also previously worked at Marist Primary School and we were approached to assist them with designing a new classroom block due to the school experiencing a roll growth.
Our project scope was to deliver a new two storey, six classroom block which will meet the needs of the school & incorporate the Innovative Learning Environment (ILE) philosophy. Careful consideration was made to the material pallet which is low maintenance and long-wearing.
The floor plan is a large rectangular shared learning space with all the Small Group Learning [SGL] and art spaces to one side. A large west facing covered verandah creates an outdoor learning space where children could spill out onto from the main space during summer days.
